RSV Vaccine Cutting Baby Hospital Admissions by Over 80% in UK
A UK study has found that the RSV vaccine given to pregnant women is reducing baby hospital admissions by more than 80%. The vaccine, introduced in 2024, provides nearly 85% protection when administered at least four weeks before birth. The study followed nearly 300,000 babies born between September 2024 and March 2025, with over 4,500 hospitalised - the vast majority whose mothers had not been vaccinated.
