A 37-year-old Thai broker married to a South Korean and her 43-year-old Korean employer have been referred to prosecution for illegally bringing six Thais into South Korea and extorting their wages. The broker charged 120,000 Thai Baht ($3,745) per person for false job advertisements, smuggled workers by disguising them as family members, confiscated their passports, and kept them in lodgings with surveillance cameras. The broker is also suspected of arranging illegal employment for 10 undocumented Thais between July 2025 and January 2026.
