India Fuel Prices Expected to Rise Rs 25-28 Per Litre After April 29 Elections
Fuel prices in India are set to increase by Rs 25-28 per litre after April 29 when Assembly elections conclude, according to Kotak Institutional Equities. At current crude oil levels of around $120 per barrel, the gap between global costs and domestic retail prices has widened significantly, causing refiners to lose nearly Rs 270 billion monthly. This could push petrol prices close to Rs 120 per litre, a level never seen before in India, impacting transportation and everyday expenses for consumers nationwide.
