Meta Ends Contract with Sama After Workers Report Viewing Private Ray-Ban Meta Footage

Meta terminated its contract with Kenyan data annotation firm Sama after workers reported viewing sensitive private footage recorded by Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, including footage of people changing clothes, having sex, and using the toilet. Sama claims it was never notified of failing to meet standards and that 1,108 workers were affected. The incident has sparked a US class-action lawsuit against Meta and Luxottica, plus investigations by UK and Kenyan data protection authorities.
