
Rioters sentenced to nearly 140 years for Cardiff disorder where officer was set on fire
Thirty rioters have received sentences totaling nearly 140 years for their involvement in the May 2023 riots in Cardiff's Ely suburb. The unrest, sparked by the deaths of two teenagers, saw petrol bombs thrown at police and one officer set on fire. Sentences range from community orders for those under 18 to over six years in custody for adults.
