Germany Expects $8 Billion India Submarine Deal Within Three Months

Germany expects to finalize an $8 billion submarine cooperation agreement with India within the next three months, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said. The deal involves German shipbuilder ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems and India's Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited as part of India's Project-75I to acquire advanced diesel-electric submarines with Air Independent Propulsion systems. The agreement coincides with Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's three-day visit to Germany, during which both countries signed a Defence Industrial Cooperation Roadmap.
