Bondi Beach terror attack hero Ahmed Al Ahmed has been charged with assault.

Mr Ahmed was charged with domestic violence common assault and stalking and intimidating after an incident in Bankstown in March.

What's next?

Mr Ahmed is due to appear in Bankstown Local Court on June 29.

Bondi Beach terror attack hero Ahmed Al Ahmed has been charged with assault.

The ABC understands Mr Ahmed, 44, is accused of assaulting his father during an incident at a home in Bankstown in Sydney's south-west in March.

"On Wednesday 3 June 2026 a 44-year-old man was served with a Court Attendance Notice for common assault (DV) and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic)," NSW Police said in a statement.

He will appear in Bankstown Local Court on July 29.

Mr Ahmed was praised for his actions in December last year when he was seen in footage from the Bondi Beach terror attack wrestling a rifle from gunman Sajid Akram.

He was hailed as a hero by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese as vision of his actions was seen across the globe.
