STRATEGIC BREAK! 18 runs came off the previous over, and the Gujarat Titans need many more of those to keep pace with the required rate. After racing to 42 in the first three overs, they managed only 50 runs in the next 6, and that is simply not going to cut the mustard. Kolkata Knight Riders piled on 136 runs during the middle phase (overs 7-16), and GT will need a similar effort from here. More importantly, one of the two batters at the crease has to bat deep. This is not an easy ground to defend on, and with Matheesha Pathirana off the field due to a hamstring issue, Ajinkya Rahane has a few decisions to make with his bowling options. Well, Sudharsan has his helmet on and is waiting on the sidelines, which is a positive sign from Gujarat's perspective.

But Anukul is surprised by the decision and convinces Rahane to review it. It is a fair delivery to begin with. The split-screen replays come up. Gill has not moved, so the guideline remains as it is, and it shows that the ball is clearly inside that. So the on-field decision is overturned.

Matheesha Pathirana pulls up just as he is about to land. He feels his left hamstring on the way back to the mark. Sunil Narine and Ajinkya Rahane gather around the young pacer.
