Israel Launches Heavy Strikes Across Southern Lebanon, Declares 'Combat Zone'
Evacuations Precede Bombardment Targeting Hezbollah; US-Iran Talks Ongoing
Israel has launched heavy strikes across southern Lebanon, declaring the area a "combat zone" ahead of the bombardment. RT witnessed evacuations in the Tyre District as residents fled towards safer areas like Saida and Beirut. The IDF targeted Hezbollah military buildings, command centers, and launch sites, claiming over 550 hits since the week began. Lebanese media reported strikes in several southern towns, with one Lebanese soldier killed in the Bekaa region. Hezbollah continues retaliatory operations, citing Israeli ceasefire violations. The escalation occurs amid US-Iran indirect talks, with Tehran demanding Israel halt operations for a ceasefire extension. Since late February, at least 3,213 have been killed and 9,737 wounded.
