(과천=연합뉴스) 최주성 기자 = 중앙선거관리위원회는 3일 오후 5시 현재 제9회 전국동시지방선거 투표율이 57.4%로 집계됐다고 밝혔다.
투표는 이날 오전 6시 전국 투표소에서 일제히 시작됐으며 전체 유권자 4천464만9천908명 가운데 2천561만7천431명이 투표를 마쳤다. 여기에는 지난달 29∼30일 실시된 사전투표(투표율 23.51%)와 거소투표 결과도 반영됐다.
이는 지난 제8회 지방선거 동시간대 투표율(47.6%)보다 9.8%포인트(p) 높고, 제7회 지방선거(56.1%)보다 1.3%p 높은 수치다.
추세대로면 최종 투표율 60.2%를 기록한 제7회 지선보다 높은 투표율을 기록할 것으로 보인다. 역대 지방선거 가운데 최종 투표율이 60%를 넘은 경우는 제1회 지방선거(68.4%)와 제7회 지방선거 두 차례뿐이다.
현재까지 투표율이 가장 높은 지역은 전남(63.6%)이고 강원(61.9%), 경남(60.9%), 전북(60.2%) 등이 뒤를 이었다.
가장 낮은 곳은 51.5%를 기록한 광주이다. 이어 제주(53.8%), 경기·인천(54.6%), 충남(55.8%) 등 순이었다. 서울의 투표율은 59.1%를 기록했다.
이날 선거는 오후 6시까지 진행되며, 유권자들은 신분증을 지참하고 주민등록지 관할 투표소에 가서 투표하면 된다.
중앙선관위가 공식 발표하는 시간대별 투표율은 256개 구·시·군 선관위에서 취합된 투표 현황을 기준으로 한다.
