Neden Önemli?

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat, posting a total of 274. Australia's bowling unit started with promise but lost their way, allowing Bangladesh to accelerate.

Yazı boyutu

Australia's bowling unit began with promise, generating decent movement with the new ball, but lost their way dramatically as the innings progressed. The middle overs were particularly barren, a complete wicket drought that allowed Bangladesh to accelerate without alarm. The spinners, in particular, failed to make any meaningful impact, returning empty-handed despite the dry and hard surface. Interestingly, Bangladesh captain Shanto revealed at the toss that he expected the ball to grip and stop a touch more in the second innings as the surface wears further. If that proves to be the case, the Australian batters will need to recalibrate their approach entirely. Patience and partnership building should be their first motto over boundary hunting, preserving wickets through the tricky middle phase, before any late assault. So folks, it sets up a fascinating second innings, and we could be in for a riveting chase under the lights of Shere e Bangla stadium. So stay tuned as the second inning might start in sometime.

That partnership that the Bangla Tingers were asking for arrived in emphatic fashion. Litton Das provided the anchor, batting diligently for 48 before being forced to retire hurt, while Towhid Hridoy has been the standout performer of the innings, scoring 83 off 88 balls, composed and increasingly threatening. Mosaddek Hossain has complemented Hridoy well, and together the pair have shared a 93-run partnership that has completely cruised away the innings for them. After the departure of Hridoy, Musaddek took on the charge and got his fifty in 43 balls. However, when the fifth wicket fell, Litton came out limping like a wounded warrior and scored his 14th half-century, also helping his team to post a total over 270-run mark.

Top order collapse - Bangladesh's innings began on a shaky note after winning the toss and choosing to bat. Soumya Sarkar was bowled by Xavier Bartlett for just 2 in the very first over, and while Tanzid Hasan and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto steadied things briefly with a 51-run stand, both fell without truly imposing themselves. At 61 for 3, Bangladesh were in trouble and in desperate need of a partnership.

Fearless tigers roar - What an innings it was for the Bangladesh camp. Their batting unit was simply phenomenal, reading the conditions and playing entirely to their strengths, and posted a formidable total of 274 on the board. Yes, winning the toss on a flat surface like this was fortunate, but by the standards Australia hold themselves to, they will know they could and should have done considerably better with the ball. There is, however, another factor worth acknowledging, which is the stifling Dhaka humidity. By the time the 35th over arrived, the Australian pacers were visibly exhausted, and maybe that is one of the reasons why they failed to execute their plan. But in the middle overs, they simply failed to get the crucial breakthroughs.

Ben Dwarshuis to Litton Das, Bangs this into the pitch, just outside off, Litton Das steps across but offers no shot at it. Nothing given by the umpire but Das seems to be unhappy with the call as he wants a wide.

Xavier Bartlett to Litton Das, FIFTY FOR DAS! A fighting knock from him despite battling with a hamstring issue. This is also his first half-century in Mirpur, according to the commentators on air. Hard length and on middle, Litton Das pulls it wide of deep square leg and hurries back for the second run. He just makes his ground as Inglis grabs the throw and breaks the stumps.

Xavier Bartlett to Mahedi Hasan, OUT! CAUGHT! Xavier Bartlett ends a struggling stay of Mahedi Hasan out in the middle. Fuller delivery, just outside off, Hasan has a wild hoick across the line but loses his shape and only gets a top edge. The ball flies in the air and Cameron Green at short cover backtracks to take a simple catch. Bangladesh are 261/5 now.

Adam Zampa to Mosaddek Hossain, Looped up, full and on off, Mosaddek Hossain uses his feet and thumps it aerially down the pitch. Adam Zampa sticks out his left hand and gets fingertips on it, which slows down the momentum of the ball and long off moves to his right to cut it out. Two taken.

Ben Dwarshuis to Towhid Hridoy, OUT! TAKEN! Ben Dwarshuis strikes and Australia finally break the partnership. This is on a fuller length, on middle and leg, pace on this time. Towhid Hridoy tries to bring his wrists into play to whip it away but his head falls and he ends up getting more height than distance. It flies in the air towards deep mid-wicket, where Alex Carey comes forward and takes a good reverse cup catch. Bangladesh are 246/4 now.
