同社の環境影響評価方法書などによると、函館市寅沢町などの対象事業実施区域の約1118ヘクタールに最大11基の風力発電機を設置し、最大出力は4万7300キロワットを想定している。
2031年4月に着工し、34年10月に試験運転、35年1月に営業運転を開始する予定だ。
風力発電機の設置予定範囲は、樹木の伐採が制限される「水源涵養（かんよう）保安林」も含まれており、施設規模によっては道が保安林の指定を解除する必要があるという。
道渡島総合振興局によると、建設計画は現在、事業者が環境影響評価法に基づき、環境影響評価方法書を公表し、市民らからの一般意見を受け付ける段階となっている。
事業者は今後、一般意見をとりまとめ、意見概要を道に提出する。
