그는 "압수수색은 사실관계 확인을 위한 수사 절차일 뿐이며 수사 의뢰 시점은 선관위의 독립적 절차와 판단에 따른 것"이라며 "도민 선택을 흔들고, 선거 결과를 의혹으로 뒤덮으려는 시도에 단호히 대응하겠다"고 강조했다.
그러면서 사법기관 수사에 성실히 협조하겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.
박완수 당선인 선거캠프에서 한때 영상 제작을 맡았던 A씨는 지난달 초 현직 경남도청 공무원들이 민주당 김경수 후보를 공격하는 딥페이크 영상 제작을 지시하고 도청 내부 자료를 제공하는 등 선거에 개입한 의혹이 있다며 경남도선관위에 제보했다.
JTBC가 지난달 28일 관련 의혹을 처음 보도했고, 경남도선관위는 방송 다음 날 A씨 제보를 토대로 박 당선인 캠프 관계자와 경남도청 전현직 공무원 9명을 공직선거법 위반 혐의로 창원지검에 수사 의뢰했다.
