SEOUL, June 24 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Group said Wednesday it has established a cybersecurity working group within the Trilateral Economic Dialogue (TED), a private consultative body involving South Korea, the United States and Japan.
TED is a U.S.-led forum that brings together government and business leaders from the three countries to discuss ways to deepen economic cooperation and advance shared interests.
The cybersecurity working group is the first topic-specific sub-group to be created within the trilateral dialogue.
Hyundai Motor Co. and its affiliate Kia Corp. said the initiative comes as cyberattacks are becoming more frequent and sophisticated, while the growing use of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT) is increasing security risks across companies connected through global supply chains.
