4月に鹿児島県の喜界島でのパラシュート降下訓練で異常が発生し、パラシュートが一時紛失した問題で、陸上自衛隊第1空挺（くうてい）団（千葉県）は1日、予備のパラシュートが自動で開く装置の設定ミスが要因と特定し、再発防止策などを鹿児島県に説明した。

この問題では、4月18日の訓練でヘリコプターから5人が降下した際、2人の予備の傘が主傘と同時に開き、危険を避けるために切り離した主傘などが一時紛失した。

空挺団によると、主傘を開けない異常が発生した場合などに予備傘が自動で開く高度を事前に設定する際、隊員が誤って初期値の高度に予定の高度を加算する形で設定。落下速度が条件を超えた2人の予備傘が開いたという。

再発防止に向けては、設定手順などを規則やマニュアルに反映した、などとしている。
