捜査2課によると、菅原容疑者は富谷市のしんまち地区の活性化事業などで、安藤容疑者の会社が所有、取得する不動産を利活用できるよう事業計画の策定に助言し、市に事業内容を説明する機会を設定。その見返りとして、2023年10月中旬～26年3月下旬、安藤容疑者から県内や関東圏で約35回、計約28万円相当の飲食や宿泊、運転代行代などの接待を受けた疑いがある。
安藤容疑者は当時は社長で、菅原容疑者は観光課の主幹だった。県警は、両者の間に以前から何らかの接点があったとみている。
県警は10日夕、市役所を家宅捜索した。市は「市政史上、前代未聞の事態。このような事案が発生したことは痛恨の極み」などとする若生裕俊市長の談話を発表した。
