Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Thursday called on Iranians to counter what he described as enemy plots through "steadfastness, foresight, preserving unity and mutual trust," while renewing Tehran's support for the so-called resistance front and issuing a fresh warning against Israel. Khamenei stressed on ideological continuity with Iran's revolutionary leadership. He said, "The Iranian nation, with its renewed mission, has become a source of pride for the free nations alongside the resistance front. The message was read at the Imam Khomeini shrine during ceremonies marking the 37th death anniversary of Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to Tasnim News Agency, Khamenei described Israel as a "cancerous tumour" and said that the country is nearing the end of its existence He further added that the "Zionist regime" would not survive another 25 years. He said, "The shaky Zionist regime and the cancerous tumour of Israel have also drawn near to the final stages of their ominous lifespan, and by the grace of God and in accordance with the resolute and farsighted words of the martyred Leader ten years ago, they will not see 25 years after that date, God willing." Khamenei's remarks come against the backdrop of a fragile security environment in West Asia, where direct hostilities between Iran and Israel have eased, but the risk of renewed escalation remains. While the ceasefire has largely held, both sides continue to maintain a high state of military readiness. The conflict has left both Iran and Israel claiming success. Tehran has portrayed its response to Israeli actions as evidence of its deterrence capabilities, while Israel has maintained that its military operations significantly degraded Iranian military assets and capabilities. The United States continues to maintain a significant military presence in the region. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, US President Donald Trump has privately told aides that he would consider ending the ceasefire if Iran were found responsible for the deaths of American troops. However, the report said Trump remains reluctant to be drawn into a broader regional conflict.
