USR計畫團隊邀請去年培訓兩位「非視覺」導覽員擔任導覽任務，搭配兩位台中市政府手譯員及兩位即時聽打員，即時將視障者口語資訊轉為手語及字幕，帶領聽障者運用五感探索綠川的環境，在視障導覽員的非視覺指引下，參與者聞河畔植被的清香，並觸摸不同質地的樹木的樹皮、葉子、果實，創新的導覽方式，讓一般大眾也能體會到多元族群感知世界的獨特視角，達成深度的同理與共融。
視覺與手作是聽障者與環境對話的最佳語言，活動另安排植物染與繪畫創作，讓聽障者利用流域周邊的自然素材進行創作，手作學習生態知識。
多位參與活動的聽障者回饋，透過這次體驗，第一次感受到自己也能成為「河川守護者」，興大指出，這項USR計畫「綠旱興」打造不分族群、全民參與的共融永續流域平台，讓身障者從被服務的角色轉為主動提供多感官資訊的導覽員，預計下半年另推動USR聽障導覽員培訓。
