吉村氏は会見で、市議団が議案に賛成する場合は任期中の住民投票を目指すことが前提との考えを示し、実現が見通せなくなれば出馬を取りやめると改めて強調した。
一方、府議会で過半数の維新府議団は和田賢治幹事長が19日の取材に、市議会で設置議案が可決された際は、6月3日開会予定の6月府議会冒頭で継続審議中の設置議案を議決したいとの意向を明らかにした。設置に必要な府市両議会での可決が得られれば、6月中にも法定協が初開催される。【芝村侑美、面川美栄】
