In the photo, Prince Louis is seen smiling and wearing a blue zip-up jumper with his arms crossed. The image was also shared on royal social media accounts by Prince William and Catherine who wrote: "Happy birthday, Louis! 8 today!" followed by a red balloon emoji.
Porteous, who is based in Jersey, has received royal commissions in the past from Prince William and Catherine, including for behind the scenes moments from Louis' christening. He also took pictures of Prince George on his third and fifth birthday, as well as the Wales' family Christmas card for 2022.
Prince Louis Arthur Charles - known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Wales - was born at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington on 23 April 2018. He is third child of the Prince and Princess of Wales after Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10 and is fourth in the line of succession to the throne.
