RUSADA has been under scrutiny following past doping scandals in Russian sports.
MOSCOW, May 13. /TASS/. Relations between the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) remain constructive, RUSADA Director General Veronika Loginova told TASS on Wednesday. "Our relations can be characterized as constructive. We send monthly testing reports to WADA and receive feedback," she said in an interview with TASS. "It is particularly important that over the past five years there was not a single remark regarding the quality of the Russian doping control." "RUSADA collects samples from Russian athletes in Russia and other countries where our athletes may be located - during competitions or even during vacation," she continued. "We also carry out testing upon requests from anti-doping organizations of other countries - we check on their athletes." "All samples are analyzed in foreign laboratories as there is currently no WADA-accredited laboratory in Russia," Loginova noted. "We send samples to the largest European laboratories, including the one in Turkey. Of course, these are very high logistical costs, but there is no other option at the moment," she added.
