(서울=연합뉴스) 양정우 기자 = 윤호중 행정안전부 장관은 3일 정부세종청사에 마련된 제9회 전국동시지방선거 투·개표지원 상황실을 찾아 투표 진행 상황을 점검하고, 선거 관리를 위해 비상근무 중인 관계자들을 격려했다.
지방선거 투·개표지원상황실은 사전투표가 시작된 지난달 29일부터 개표가 종료되는 시점까지 운영된다.
상황실은 지방정부 및 선거관리위원회 등과 연계해 투·개표 진행 상황을 실시간으로 파악하고, 경찰청·소방청·우정사업본부·케이티(KT)·한국전력 등 관계기관과 긴밀히 협조해 사건·사고 등 비상 상황에 즉각 대응할 수 있는 체계를 가동하고 있다.
윤 장관은 이날 투·개표지원상황실장으로부터 전국 투표 진행 현황과 주요 비상 대응 태세를 보고받았다.
그는 "투·개표 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 화재·정전·통신장애 등 각종 비상 상황에 즉시 대응할 수 있도록 관계기관과 함께 만반의 대비 태세를 갖춰야 한다"면서 "마지막까지 긴장감을 늦추지 말고 상황 관리에 최선을 다해달라"고 당부했다.
