二回に先制ソロを浴びたが、失点はこれだけで三回以降はわずか1安打。これまでの登板で課題だったテンポの悪さも解消し、「後半にかけて良くなってきた」と胸を張る。小久保裕紀監督からは「成長したな」と声を掛けてもらったという。
常勝軍団の先発ローテーションを守ることは簡単ではないが、「いろいろ試行錯誤しながら、たくさん練習もしています」。疲れた体を癒やすべく、温水と冷水を交互に浴びる「交代浴」を試すなど、向上心の高さが成長につながっている。
