손 당선인은 "순천을 멍들게 했던 분열과 갈등의 구태정치를 끝내고, 소통과 화합의 새로운 시대를 열어달라는 시민 모두의 승리"라며 "선거 기간 보내준 뜨거운 성원과 준엄한 명령을 가슴 깊이 새겨 생태도시를 넘어 경제도시로 도약을 위해 모든 것을 바치겠다"고 말했다.
손 당선인은 "통합의 시대 경제의 중심, 시민이 주인인 도시를 반드시 만들겠다"며 "반목과 대립을 넘어 모두를 아우르는 통합의 시장이 되겠다"고 약속했다.
