Wu Chih-chung said: "You can imagine how much global interests would be harmed if China attacks Taiwan, or even imposes a blockade around Taiwan."
Wu Chih-chung further stated that the stability of this region is a "global responsibility."
He also believes that as Taiwan's attractiveness to international partners grows, China's anxiety intensifies. "China feels it is losing Taiwan, so it is trying its best to seize it."

He added: "Taiwan and Europe have more and more opportunities to discuss matters discreetly... We can come up with all sorts of models to try to cooperate."
Wu Chih-chung stressed that Taiwan has its own military and foreign policy, and "does not need to declare independence."
He also pointed out, "We are forced to maintain a very difficult balance: on the one hand, defending our democracy and way of life, and on the other hand, not provoking China too much."
However, Wu Chih-chung is not asking Europe to fight for Taiwan, but rather seeking to build friendships.
