Trump Media Launches Paid Service for Instant Access to Influential Truth Social Posts

Trump Media & Technology Group, owner of Truth Social, is launching a paid service to provide Wall Street firms with high-speed access to influential posts. Starting August 1, instant updates from "the highest-ranking" accounts will be delivered. US President Donald Trump, with the most followers on the platform, could see his posts included, potentially benefiting him directly as a majority shareholder.

The service, named Truth API, promises millisecond delivery to paying clients 24/7. This move aims to create a new revenue stream for the currently loss-making company. Financial traders, who could gain an edge from rapid access to market-moving news, are the primary target. Delays, even by seconds, can be costly for these firms.

Until now, manual monitoring of the app was necessary. Trump Media warns that unauthorized data copying by some firms will soon be blocked, forcing them to purchase the official feed.

Experts note the unique overlap between Trump’s public role and private business. Including the president’s posts would be unprecedented, according to Mark Spiegel, highlighting potential advantages for subscribers and disadvantages for non-subscribers in capturing market swings.

Robert Frenchman, a legal expert, stated that tiering information access does not violate federal securities laws, though it may seem unfair.

The BBC and Reuters reached out for comment; Trump Media did not disclose pricing, and the White House declined to comment on the president’s potential post inclusion.
