〔編譯陳成良/綜合報導〕美國最新研究發現,輕度認知障礙患者若有服用葡萄糖胺習慣,後續被診斷為失智症的比例高於未使用者,兩者之間存在關聯。

根據科學新聞網站《Science Daily》報導,佛羅里達大學(University of Florida)研究團隊分析2012年至2024年間醫療資料後發現,在校正年齡、性別及人口因素後,服用葡萄糖胺的輕度認知障礙患者,後續進展為失智症的機率較未使用者高出25%。

研究資料顯示,共有1896名失智症患者及2750名輕度認知障礙患者曾使用葡萄糖胺,約占各族群8%。

研究人員進一步發現,在已被診斷為阿茲海默症及相關失智症的患者中,服用葡萄糖胺者的死亡風險較高,兩者之間同樣存在關聯。

不過,研究並未在輕度認知障礙患者身上觀察到相同現象。研究團隊表示,相關關聯性在不同疾病階段可能有所差異,仍有待進一步研究釐清。

研究團隊隨後利用阿茲海默症小鼠模型及人類腦組織樣本進行分析。結果顯示,葡萄糖胺可能增加細胞內蛋白質的糖基化作用。接受葡萄糖胺的小鼠出現較明顯的社交記憶缺損;當研究人員降低相關反應後,小鼠記憶表現則有所改善。

在人類腦組織樣本中,研究人員也發現阿茲海默症患者腦內相關糖基化反應明顯高於健康對照組。

研究共同作者、佛羅里達大學生物化學與分子生物學系主任根崔(Matt Gentry)表示,目前研究結果僅顯示葡萄糖胺使用與疾病進展之間存在關聯,尚未證明兩者具有因果關係,但已提出值得進一步研究的臨床問題。

研究團隊強調,相關結果仍需透過人體臨床試驗進一步驗證,現階段並不構成停用葡萄糖胺的醫療建議。

這項研究成果已於6月9日刊登於《自然代謝》(Nature Metabolism)期刊。
