Tasmania Police Detective Inspector David Gill said police were treating the death as suspicious.
"Police investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the woman's death; however, at this stage, we are treating the death as suspicious," Inspector Gill.
Police say the woman has yet to be formally identified.
