Taiwan High Speed Rail Disrupted by Signal Anomaly, Affecting Thousands
Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) experienced significant disruptions on May 25, 2026, due to a signal anomaly between Miaoli and Taichung. Services were reduced to 3 trains per hour from Nangang (southbound) and Zuoying (northbound), with all trains making every-stop. The Railway Bureau is investigating the cause, noting only two previous major delays due to equipment failure since 2007.
