
Iranian National Arrested at LAX for Alleged Arms Trafficking to Sudan
An Iranian national and lawful permanent resident since 2016 was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport for allegedly brokering arms sales including drones, bombs, bomb fuses and millions of rounds of ammunition to Sudan on behalf of Tehran. Shamim Mafi, 44, a resident of Woodland Hills, California, was arrested Saturday and faces up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted.
