Floods and landslides have caused significant damage in Russia's North Caucasus republics. In Dagestan, four main roads were swept away, and over 2,000 residents are without power. Ingushetia reported landslides urging residents to avoid mountain travel. Chechnya saw a dam collapse, submerging homes and forcing evacuations.

Eight people were injured in a road accident involving a passenger "Gazelle" van and a "Kamaz" truck on the "Kavkaz" federal highway in Dagestan's Kizilyurtovsky district. One man in critical condition with internal bleeding was successfully operated on and saved.

Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the aftermath of floods in Dagestan, expressing hope that the new leadership will address the needs of those affected by the natural disaster. Heavy rainfall in late March and early April caused widespread flooding, power outages, and damage to infrastructure in Dagestan and Chechnya.

The attacker was detained by police shortly after the incident.
