Manchester United delay permanent manager decision on Michael Carrick until season end
Manchester United are waiting until the end of the season to decide whether to appoint Michael Carrick permanently as manager, despite his excellent interim record of 26 points from 36 in the Premier League - the best in the division over that period. Carrick has lifted United from seventh to third place since replacing Ruben Amorim in January. Director of football Jason Wilcox is leading the decision, with Carrick interested in the role and being consulted on summer transfer targets including Real Madrid's Aurelian Tchouameni (£70m), Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson, Brighton's Carlos Baleba, and Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton.
