In a harrowing incident, a SWISS flight bound for Zurich from Delhi faced a critical engine fire just as it was taking off, necessitating a swift emergency evacuation via inflatable slides. Tragically, five people were injured, including four passengers and a cabin crew member, during the chaotic scene that unfolded at an alarming speed of 104 knots.
Six passengers were hospitalized after a SWISS flight LX147 from Delhi to Zurich suffered engine failure and fire during takeoff at IGIA around 1:08 am. The crew aborted takeoff and evacuated 232 passengers and crew via emergency slides on runway 28. The Airbus A330 (HB-JHK) was traveling at 104 knots when the incident occurred. Six injured passengers were taken to Medanta hospital. Runway 28 remains closed until the aircraft is removed.
Rheinmetall has begun mass production of unmanned boats at the Blohm+Voss shipyard in Hamburg in partnership with British company Kraken Technology. The Kraken K3 Scout autonomous vessels are approximately 8.5 meters long and can reach speeds of up to 55 knots. The boats are designed for both military and civilian applications, including protecting maritime areas and critical infrastructure, and can serve as weapons carriers in military operations. The two companies established the Rheinmetall Kraken GmbH joint venture last year.
