A fire at the Mara restaurant in Dattagalli, Mysuru, on Monday afternoon killed two cooks and injured four others. The blaze, believed to be caused by a short circuit in decorative lighting, occurred around 3 pm. An investigation is underway.
A US woman tourist was allegedly sexually assaulted at a homestay in Kutta, Kodagu district, Karnataka. Two accused have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. The victim approached the US embassy after the incident, which then alerted police. She is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mysuru.
