Met Police Commissioner defends officers' actions in Golders Green attack after Green Party leader condemns force
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has defended officers who Tasered and repeatedly kicked a suspect in the head during an arrest in Golders Green, north London. The suspect, Essa Suleiman, 45, is accused of stabbing two Jewish men - Shloime Rand, 34, and Moshe Shine, 76 - on Wednesday morning. Green Party leader Zack Polanski shared a post condemning the officers' actions as excessive force against a mentally ill man. Sir Rowley described the officers as 'extraordinary' and their actions as preventing further injury and saving lives, adding that apprehending violent criminals is a 'full contact and messy task'.
