India has extended anti-dumping duties on certain Chinese tubes and pipes until January 27, 2027, to protect domestic manufacturers from cheap imports. The duty, initially imposed in 2021, ranges from USD 961.33 to USD 1,610.67 per tonne. Additionally, anti-dumping duties on Normal Butanol imports from Malaysia, South Africa, and the US were continued for five years.
A coalition of EU titanium dioxide producers including Tronox, Kronos, Precheza and Cinkarna has filed a complaint with the European Commission against Chinese producer LB Group, alleging unfair foreign subsidies in its planned acquisition of Venator's UK plant in Greatham. The complaint, filed in December 2025, urges investigation under the EU's Foreign Subsidies Regulation, which has never been applied outside the EU before. If the Commission opens an investigation, it would set a major precedent, as acquiring the UK plant would allow LB Group to export to the EU duty-free, circumventing anti-dumping tariffs imposed in January 2025.
The European Commission has imposed anti-dumping duties ranging from 11% to 25.4% on glass fibre produced by Chinese companies operating in Egypt, Bahrain and Thailand. The measures target Belt and Road routing to circumvent tariffs on products labelled "made in China". By 2024, imports from these three countries accounted for 24% of the EU market, with Egyptian imports alone reaching 18%. The industry employs over 4,500 workers directly in the EU, with unions warning of potential plant closures without stronger action.
