Seven Dead as Hospital Wall Collapses During Bengaluru Thunderstorm
Seven people died and nine were injured when an eight-foot-high compound wall of Bowring Hospital collapsed during intense thunderstorms in Bengaluru's Shivajinagar area on Wednesday. The victims, including a six-year-old girl who had gone shopping ahead of her birthday, were street vendors who had taken shelter along the wall to escape a sudden downpour. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced Rs 5 lakh compensation per family and ordered an investigation into potential negligence. Three additional deaths were reported in separate rain-related incidents across the city.
