Four people died and ten were injured when a bus collided with a tanker, caught fire on Ahmedabad-Rajkot NH, near Sangani village, Surendranagar district, around 1:30 am Thursday.
A 19-year-old youth and his 45-year-old father sustained burn injuries after a dispute over the youth taking his father's bike without permission in Bengaluru's Pragathipura area. The father, Anand Doddamani, allegedly poured petrol on his son Mallikarjun during an argument. Neighbours cooking nearby caused the fire to spread, engulfing both father and son. Mallikarjun suffered 40% burn injuries while Anand sustained 18% burns. Police have registered a case of attempt to murder based on the mother's complaint.
A 21-year-old woman from Uttar Pradesh, Kashish Meena, died at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital on Friday after being set on fire by her lover Ashish Meena's family on April 25. The victim had 90% burn injuries and battled for life for a week. The incident occurred after Ashish informed Kashish of his decision to get engaged elsewhere, leading to a heated argument during which his family allegedly poured petrol on her. Ashish has been arrested, and police have suspended four officers for failing to act promptly.
