
Paris police chief's concert ban for LFI sparks political row
A concert organized by La France insoumise (LFI) on Place de la République in Paris for the Fête de la musique was banned by the prefect of police, Patrice Faure. LFI founder Jean-Luc Mélenchon denounced the decision as a "democratic scandal" and plans to appeal, while Jewish community leaders had expressed concerns about the event.
