France Urges Citizens to Leave Mali After Coordinated Attacks Kill Defence Leader
France has urged its citizens to leave Mali immediately following coordinated attacks by separatist fighters and Islamist militants that killed defence leader Sadio Camara in Kati and saw separatist forces seize control of Kidal. The attacks, involving the Azawad Liberation Front and JNIM jihadist group, spanned multiple cities including Bamako, Gao, Sevare and Mopti. The UK has also advised against travel and told citizens to leave.
