Former New Zealand all-rounder Doug Bracewell has been handed a two-year suspension after testing positive for cocaine during a County Championship match for Essex against Somerset on September 25, 2025. The 35-year-old, who admitted to using cocaine after the first day and again before play on the second day, retired from cricket on December 28 but will remain banned until November 23, 2027. This is his second drug-related offense, having previously served a one-month suspension in 2024 during New Zealand's Super Smash competition.
