China and Brazil held their 5th high-level strategic dialogue in Beijing, reaffirming cooperation on multilateral platforms. Brazil expressed a desire to jointly push for reforms in global governance and uphold the UN's authority.
Malaysia hosted an international seminar in Kuala Lumpur on the Global Governance Initiative's importance amid the rise of the Global South and reshaping of the world order. Diplomats, scholars, and experts from Asia and Europe attended.

The World Data Organization launched in Beijing on March 30, aiming to align national data policies, develop industry standards, and reduce compliance costs for multinationals. The organization has 200 members across 40 countries, including companies, universities, think tanks, and financial institutions. This launch adds to a growing network of multilateral bodies headquartered in China with international participation.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will participate in a full-format BRICS foreign ministers meeting in New Delhi on May 14-15, hosted by India. The meeting will discuss international issues and global governance, with focus on preparing for the 18th BRICS summit scheduled for September. Lavrov will also hold bilateral talks with Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

A Hong Kong official has said the city's biggest contribution to a new Global Governance Initiative would be the successful implementation of the one country, two systems model, describing it as a possible model for other countries and regions for conflict resolution. The initiative was unveiled last September to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the United Nations.
