Man Pleads Guilty to Murder in 2002 Killing of Jam Master Jay
Jay Bryant, 52, pleaded guilty to murder charges in the 2002 fatal shooting of Jam Master Jay (Jay Mizell), the pioneering deejay for Run-DMC. Bryant admitted helping two other men gain entry to the Queens recording studio where Mizell was shot in the head. His DNA was found on a hat at the scene. Bryant faces 15-20 years in prison. Two other men, Mizell's godson Karl Jordan Jr and childhood friend Ronald Washington, were previously convicted in the case, though Jordan's conviction was overturned.
