The BBC is scrapping Football Focus after 52 years, with the Saturday lunchtime programme ending this season. The broadcaster cited changing audience habits, with fans increasingly consuming football content through digital platforms and on-demand viewing. BBC head of sport Alex Kay-Jelski said the decision was made before last week's £500m savings announcement. Regular presenter Alex Scott will remain with the BBC and cover next year's Women's World Cup in Brazil.
