Yomif Kejelcha Runs 1:59:41 in London Marathon Debut, Finishes 11 Seconds Behind Sabastian Sawe
Ethiopia's Yomif Kejelcha ran 1:59:41 at the London Marathon on Sunday, becoming only the second man to break the two-hour barrier in an official marathon. The 28-year-old finished 11 seconds behind Kenya's Sabastian Sawe, who was celebrated as the first sub-two-hour marathoner. Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo placed third in 2:00:28. Despite finishing second, Kejelcha achieved the fastest marathon debut in history and said he was "very, very happy" to break two hours.
