Driver charged nearly three years after Land Rover crashed into Wimbledon school killing two 8-year-old girls
Claire Freemantle, 48, has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and seven counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a Land Rover crashed through railings at The Study Prep school in Wimbledon on July 6, 2023, killing two 8-year-old girls, Nuria Sajjad and Selena. The driver initially faced no charges after prosecutors said she had an undiagnosed epileptic seizure, but the case was reopened after the girls' parents challenged the decision.
