HSBC is reviewing a school fee subsidy perk for bankers in Hong Kong, its biggest market, as part of chief executive Georges Elhedery's overhaul of the bank. The perk covers 95% of school fees up to HK$220,000 for primary and HK$300,000 for secondary school children, costing tens of millions of dollars annually. Hundreds of staff benefit, but the perk is not available in other hubs, reportedly causing tension with London's headquarters. No decisions have been made yet.
