The Republican served as Boise mayor, U.S. Senator, and governor before leading the Interior Department, where he notably bucked the White House to list the polar bear as a threatened species in 2008.
A woman and her young child have died after getting into difficulty in the water at Elthorne Park in Ealing, west London. Police were called just before 4:30pm on Saturday and recovered both from the water. Both died at the scene.
