China-based robotics company Agibot has completed what Chinese state media described as the world's first livestream of humanoid robots operating across a full tablet production inspection line. The six-day demonstration, which concluded recently after eight humanoid robots worked on an active manufacturing line at Longcheer Technology's factory in Nanchang, produced 17,625 tablets while achieving a reported task success rate of 99.99%. During the livestream, the robots ran for more than 64 hours of runtime, nonstop in a commercial factory environment, the People’s Daily China said in a post on X. The demonstration was live-streamed to the public, showing the robots performing manufacturing tasks in a normal production environment. The robots, identified as Agibot's G2 humanoid models, handled tablet inspection, defect sorting, material transport and other production activities across more than four manufacturing workflows. Agibot said the robots completed 64,828 production-line tasks during the demonstration while working alongside human employees and active industrial equipment.

Livestream focused on industrial manufacturing

Unlike in controlled laboratory demonstrations, the robots operated on a functioning mass-production line, adapting to changing production requirements in real time. According to the company, the livestream was intended to demonstrate the use of humanoid robots in practical industrial environments through continuous public observation over six days.“By bringing multiple humanoid robots into a real production line and making the process visible over six consecutive days, we wanted to provide a more transparent answer to what embodied AI industrialisation actually requires,” said Yao Maoqing, president of Embodied AI Business Unit at AGIBOT, in a statement. Following the livestream, Agibot announced that its 15,000th robot had rolled off its production line and been delivered to its manufacturing partner, Longcheer. The milestone robot is an Agibot G2, a wheeled mobile manipulator with a humanoid upper body designed for industrial tasks including material handling, inspection and production-line support. The company said it has accelerated production over the past year, reducing the time to increase cumulative output from 5,000 to 10,000 robots to three months, down from about a year to scale from 1,000 to 5,000 units. The livestream comes months after Figure AI completed a 200-hour autonomous livestream featuring its Figure 03 humanoid robots, which the company said processed nearly 250,000 packages without a hardware failure.
