Recent surge in infiltration attempts along LoC in J&K.
The Indian Army thwarted an infiltration attempt in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday, killing one terrorist near the Line of Control (LoC). According to officials, troops detected suspicious movements around 4 pm during surveillance operations, approximately 300 metres inside the Indian side of the LoC. The terrorist was engaged and killed, preventing an LoC breach. Searches are ongoing to ensure no additional intruders are present.
A spokesperson for the Army’s White Knight Corps stated, “One intruder has been neutralised. Troops continue to dominate the area and maintain a high state of operational readiness. Every infiltration bid will fail.”
This operation follows similar attempts in the Jammu region. On March 10, a Pakistani LeT terrorist, Hamza Yousaf, was killed in a gun battle in the Jhangar area of Rajouri, with an AK-47 rifle and ammunition recovered. Previous attempts were foiled in Bhimber Gali sector on March 4 and Sunderbani sector on February 19. On December 12, 2025, BSF troops arrested JeM terrorist Abdul Khaliq in Jammu’s Akhnoor area. Khaliq, from Rajouri, had undergone arms training in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in 2021 and returned to recruit youths in Rajouri and Poonch.
